Local students honored at Georgia College

Georgia College recognized some of Newton County's own high achievers this week, awarding five degrees to local residents and honoring over two dozen students for their scholastic aptitude and hard work.

Dr. Steve Dorman, president of Georgia College, bestowed degrees on Jessica Albritton of Covington, Brandon Cole of Covington, Anna Fulmer of Covington, Aundree Washington of Covington, and Patricia Weaver of Covington.

Seven local students were named to the President’s List at Georgia College Tuesday by completing their courses with exemplary marks. They include Kalen Johnson of Covington, Chrishandra Perkins of Covington, Alexis Wilson of Covington, Mark Yancey of Covington, Kate Palo of Covington, Emily Fish of Oxford and Alexandra Quinones of Oxford and William Smallwood of Mansfield.

Others were named to the Georgia College Fall Dean's List: Anthony Busby of Covington; Logan Cook of Covington; Anna Fulmer of Covington; Brittain Hunt of Covington; Jessica Jay of Covington; Jeffrey Jones of Covington; Briana McWilliams of Covington; Ana Mobley of Covington; Kimberly Mulkey of Covington; Ashley Prince of Covington; Morgan Terrell of Covington; Lauren Thomas of Covington; Morgan Worley of Covington; Jessica Albritton of Covington; Kayla Lashley of Covington; Amanda Haymons of Newborn; Kristin Barnett of Oxford; Pykari Dylong of Oxford; Madison Orr of Oxford; and Kalin Jordan of Social Circle.
