The Upper Elementary class of the Montessori School of Covington celebrated Greek Day recently.
The event marks the end of the fifth grade study of ancient Greece. The class set up an ancient Greek agora in the garden classroom and have invited the third, fourth and sixth graders.
They wrote two skits, "A Not-So Typical Day in the Agora," where the audience was jury members voting on a trial, and "Theseus and Hippolyta," which they performed for the class.
Students received a handful of drachma and had the opportunity to peruse the stalls and purchase Ancient Greek delicacies brought in by the level fives and play games.
The fifth graders dressed in authentic chitons, which they made during their Greek study.
