COVINGTON, Ga. – With his family and U.S. Representative Jody Hice looking on, Eastside High School senior Tyler Davis signed to attend the U.S. Naval Academy Wednesday afternoon at Eastside.
Davis, who was also accepted by the U.S. Military Academy (West Point) and the Air Force Academy explained why he chose the Navy.
“It was definitely a tough decision between the Army, Navy and the Air Force but overall, after visiting all of the academies, I figured that the Navy offered more options for me after graduation,” he said.
After the ceremony, Davis traded his blazer and tie for his Eastside soccer uniform and joined his teammates for their second round playoff game. He told The Covington News he plans to be a Navy Aviator.
