COVINGTON, Ga. - The Newton County Board of Education last night elected Mr. Almond Turner to serve as school board chair and Mrs. Abigail Coggin to serve as vice-chair for 2018.

Superintendent Samantha Fuhrey presented the board chair’s gavel to Turner. Turner will serve as board chair through January 2019 and Coggin will serve as vice chair.
