Vehicles entered, purse stolen at Porterdale Elementary

COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) are looking for the person who broke into two cars and stole a purse at Porterdale Elementary Monday morning.

According to NCSO incident reports, the vehicles were entered between 9:07 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. July 10 while the vehicles were parked at the Ram Drive school.

In one incident, the complainant told the responding deputy that someone had broken out the driver’s window of his car but had not taken anything. In the other incident, the complainant reported that someone had pried the door frame on her car, breaking the passenger’s window and stealing her purse.

According to the report, a witness reported seeing a black Volkswagon Beetle leaving the parking lot.
