COVINGTON, Ga. — Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger met with Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown on Thursday, Nov. 7, to discuss the new voting machines and their operations and how his office can provide assistance in ensuring that every vote is counted.

Additionally, Brown and Raffensperger addressed concerns relating to law enforcement matters in the community. Brown offered his assistance if ever needed in areas of the Secretary of State’s Office.

Brown reassured Raffensperger that Newton County is a safe community and that deputies would secure all early voting and voting day precincts.
