Local man shares video of vehicle break ins

COVINGTON, Ga. - A Newton County man has video evidence of three men attempting to break into the three trucks he leaves parked in his yard. 

Clay Ivey shared the videos on his personal Facebook page in an attempt to catch the suspects, who can be seen with a gun in their hands. So far, the post has 1,286 shares and 103,405 views. 

Ivey said his residence is located on Highway 81 in the Oak Hill area. No damage was done to his vehicles, as two of them were locked and the third had nothing valuable in it. 

Ivey, who works in law enforcement in a different county, told The Covington News he was not going to report the incident until he spotted the guns. 

"That' took it to a different level," he said. "I don't want anybody to get hurt by somebody that approaches them with a gun. I'd rather them get caught."
