COVINGTON, Ga. - A woman told police her child was bitten by a dog while on the Covington Square last Thursday afternoon.
According to a Covington Police Department incident report, the mother said she was on the Square May 10 around 12:15 p.m. when her juvenile son walked close to a German Shephard that was on a leash, under the control of its owner. The dog reportedly lunged and bit the child under his left arm.
According to the report, the owner and dog left the Square on foot in the direction of Pace Street before law enforcement or animal control arrived. The case was turned over to animal control.
