UPDATE March 8, 9:20 p.m.: CPD ESU just entered the house, at 5191 Emory Street, and they have the suspect in custody. The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Jody Allen Reid, of Oxford. Reid's previous warrant was for larceny out of Walton County.
CPD deployed tear gas and entered the house to apprehend him, according to Seebaran. Officers are currently searching the house for weapons and drugs.
There were no police department injuries reported and Reid is being transported to the Newton County Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Earlier this afternoon there were two people taken into custody. Charges are pending against Chad Davis, 31, of Covington, and Anthony Underwood, 41, of Covington.
Davis and Underwood were picked up at the Odum Street location, which is where Reid ran from, Seebaran said.
Underwood had a warrant out of Jasper County for receiving stolen property.
The police department also recovered a stolen vehicle at the scene.

UPDATE March 8, 8:30 p.m.: The Covington Police Department are still in a standoff with the individual, who has been identified as an adult male.
The original officer went to the house at 4:22 p.m. and the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) was paged at 5:08 p.m.
Police report that the male is acquainted with the people at the house he is currently barricaded in. He reportedly had a vehicle there.
CPD reportedly established a no-fly zone over the location to prevent news stations from giving away police officer locations in the yard if the suspect is watching television inside the house.

The Covington Police Department has surrounded a house on the corner of Emory Street and West Street. Criminal Intelligence and Public Information Officer Allen Seebaran, of CPD, has confirmed that a person is barricaded inside the residence with a weapon.
Earlier in the day, CPD responded a burglary in progress on Crestview Drive where two juveniles were arrested.
Police then went to speak to the mother of one of the suspects on Odum Street. Once there three male subjects fled from the scene, Seebaran said. One of the subjects is in custody and the other two ran.
“On the scene were some stolen guns and drugs,” he said.
One of the runners reportedly was armed and has outstanding warrants. That is who CPD is currently dealing with, Seebaran said.
Seebaran said the SWAT team is waiting to go in.
The identity of the barricaded man is known to police, but Seebaran said that information was not being released yet.
Seebaran said the public should avoid the area if possible and take an alternate route.
