NEWBORN, Ga. - The Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for the renovated Historic Newborn Schoolhouse Tuesday. 

The schoolhouse, located at 4326 Highway 142, in Newborn, serves as a wedding and event with historic charm. The building, which was previously condemned, has received a facelift with newly painted walls and ceilings, refinished flooring and updated lighting, Linda Woodworth, chairman of the schoolhouse's non-profit organization, said.
