There's been a community drugstore at 4104 Tate St. in Covington for many decades, providing personalized service. Citizens Express Pharmacy wants to continue that tradition.

Citizens Express opens Monday, at that address, the former site of Peoples Drug Store.

Citizens will offer services including free delivery and health education, according to its owner, Dr. Fred Noble. The pharmacist in charge is Shelia D. Brewer.

Other services offered by Citizens include a drive-through window for drop-offs and to pickup prescriptions, flu shots, acceptance of faxed or called-in prescriptions from doctors, and a selection of products and medical supplies. They will match competitor prices on prescriptions, Noble said.

Citizens may eventually offer transportation to and from medical appointments to senior services, according to Noble.

The first 100 customers on Monday will receive a gift.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Call (770) 788-9191, or see www.Citizensexpresspharmacy.com.
