Residents gathered Saturday in hopes of changing the world and having a good time with family and friends.

Covington First United Methodist Church hosted the Change the World Event at the church in downtown in Covington.

With more than 40 booths, the event aimed to promote Newton County community services and organizations available locally to residents.

These organizations provide for health, education, welfare services and more. Several civil servants and civic groups shared the services and opportunities they offer to the community.

The afternoon was be filled with Christian fellowship and plenty of fun. There were plenty of food, live music, games, a petting zoo, face painting and art projects.
