Pampering at Tropical Nails

If you wander into the Tropical Nails salon on the Covington square, with its bamboo and orchid decor, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve wandered into a little bit of tropical paradise.

Tropical Nails recently moved two months ago from it’s Floyd Street location of two years into a new location on the Covington square. Owner Gracie Pinsky had wanted to move to the square for some time, and an opportunity opened up several months ago. The difference, said Pinsky, has been tremendous.

"It’s very good. The business has been improving a lot, almost by three times as much," she said.

The spa and salon offers several different types of manicures, pedicures, including a "Sugar Lemon Drop" pedicure and a "Hot Butter Rum" pedicure, as well as arcrylic nails and hair cuts, colors and treatments.

The spa and salon also offers "parties" for girls, teens preparing for proms or homecoming events and wedding groups.

Pinsky, a native of Panama, said her business differs from other spas in the amount of personal attention and health-conscious treatments offered.
