COVINGTON, Ga. - Economy Tire is known for providing the best used tire services in Covington and the surrounding area and is now under new ownership. Economy Tire will still provide the same exceptional used tire service, however, it will be expanding to new offers including new tire sales, automotive repair and oil changes.

Renovations of the current shop and warehouses are underway and expected to be completed by early November 2018.

Residents of Newton, Rockdale, Butts, Jasper and beyond can continue to receive the best retail and wholesale used tire service at Economy Tire, but can now also purchase new premium and economical brand tires. Economy Tire will supply new tires including Firestone, Continental, Bridgestone and Nexen.

“This completes the circle of trustworthy full-service auto care we provide in Covington," Jared Rutberg, president of Economy Tire, said. "Adding Economy Tire to our network expands for more tire services from what we currently offer at our other locations and gives us a presence on the south side.”

The Rutberg family currently owns and operates Covington Pro Lube, located on western end of Highway 278, as well as Kwik Change, located on Highway 142.  With a presence just south of the bypass, they now provide convenient auto services and tire sales to members of the community living south of Covington.

The Rutberg’s have been active members of the Covington community for 14 years and in the automotive industry for 10 years, earning local awards such as the 2018 Dick James Small Business of the Year and numerous Reader’s Choice/Best of Newton Awards as well as national recognition in Oil & Lube News.
