COVINGTON, Ga. - Common Ground Coffee House, located at 5128 Emory St., in Covington, will close its doors Friday, Sept. 1.
The non-profit organization owned by Connexion Church was established in 2015 and has served as an outreach opportunity for the church. Connexion Church will also be closing its doors.
"Our hearts are broken," Common Ground staff said in a statement on its Facebook page. "Our hearts not only break for the church members but for our customers as well. We have celebrated with you, cried with you and we have grieved over the sad news that we will no longer be able to serve you. We have hugged your necks, prayed with you and attempted to make your day a little bit brighter with a simple cup of coffee."
The staff of Common Ground is asking all customers to stop by this week to see the staff one last time before the closing.
"It is the prayers of our staff and damilies that the Lord's will is followed and that, if possible, we all find ourselves in a coffee shop again one day," according to the statement.
