SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. — A man died from injuries in a house fire in southern Walton County.

Officials said 58-year-old Adam Roy Rogers, of Social Circle, died Friday morning at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Walton County Fire Rescue and the Social Circle Fire Department responded to the blaze at Rogers’ home at 2220 Willow Springs Church Road in unincorporated Social Circle.

The call came in at 2:32 a.m. Friday.

Battalion Chief Craig League of Walton County Fire Rescue said the first crews to arrive found “very heavy fire involvement” in the area of the home’s kitchen and den.

Rodgers was flown to the Atlanta hospital with severe burns. He died a short time after arriving at the facility, League said.

Two other people in the home sustained minor injuries that did not require treatment.

League said fire personnel remained on the scene for several hours.

League said the cause of the fire is pending an investigation, but it is believed to be accidental. The Georgia Department of Insurance fire marshal’s office will investigate.
