ATLANTA (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for areas of Morgan and Walton counties in north central Georgia.
Forecasters Friday say the warning is in effect until 1:45 p.m. and severe thunderstorms are capable of producing tornadoes moving northeast at about 50 mph.
Meteorologists urged people in Madison and Bostwick to seek shelter immediately and to stay away from windows.
The storm was part of a system that led to severe thunderstorm warnings being issued throughout the state. Those warnings are expected to expire at 8 p.m.
