ATLANTA (AP) — A former state trooper accused in a crash that killed the wife of an Atlanta Braves trainer has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and reckless driving.

Fulton County District Attorney's spokeswoman Yvette Jones says Donald Crozier pleaded guilty Monday in the 2011 crash that killed 54-year-old Kathy Porter, the wife of Braves trainer Jeff Porter.

Authorities have said Crozier was riding with his lights and siren on when he crashed into a vehicle the Porters were riding in on their way to the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31, 2011.

Crozier was put on administrative leave after the accident and was later fired. Officials said Crozier failed to use due regard when traveling through the intersection before the accident.

Crozier will stand trial on a charge of violation of oath.
