As Newton County is growing and developing, so is the local YMCA. Located on 2140 Newton Drive Northeast, the YMCA has received several new treadmills that will replace old ones.
Employee Sharon Gorman said “Televisions are attached to the machines and include touch screens.”
“The equipment is new, in perfect working order, and will last a lot longer,” said employee Audri Ross.
The YMCA is a big part of the community. It is a non-profit organization that raises money for their financial assistance program that benefits low income families so that they can take advantage of several programs offered at the YMCA. Programs that are offered at the YMCA include: swim lessons, summer day camp, after school enrichment programs, and a sports and wellness program.
Member, Adam Hammonds said that “the equipment gets used a lot, and the new equipment is excellent!”
