How much are you worth?

No, not your assets just you. How much are you worth?

Not sure? I can tell you and I don’t even have to know you to do it.

You hold the highest value of anything on earth. Yup, in fact there is nothing on earth that compares to you. There aren’t enough riches, gems or anything else that can measure up to your worth.

Do you want to know how I know this? Because you are worth God leaving the splendor heaven to come down and take on humanity so He could rescue you. Though you are a guilty sinner, Jesus took your sin upon Himself so you wouldn’t have to die for it or be judged for it. Just for you He was beaten, spit upon, and whipped, slandered, mocked and murdered. He was condemned, tortured and died so you wouldn’t have to endure the shame or the pain you rightfully deserved. For a time even our Heavenly Father turned away from Him, for your sake because you are worth so much.

He suffered so you could be saved. He was punished so you could be set free. He died so you could have life. Even one of the soldiers who helped crucify Him in your place had to admit: "Surely this was a righteous man." (Lk 23:47) but there He was, dying a shameful, criminal’s death, and why? Because that’s how much you’re worth to Him! Should you be feeling like you’re not worth much these days, this would be a great time to remind yourself you’re worth everything to the God who loves you and sent His own Son to save you. You have worth beyond measure to Him.
