When we think of adoption, we sometimes think of the heartache of the child put in that situation and the joy of the parents whose lives are fulfilled through this process.

But as I was told by a friend of mine (who is adopted) once, the greatest thing about being adopted is "my parent's picked me." As I thought about that, I was reminded, my parents had to take what they got in me. How special it must be to know you are a "chosen child."
Well, we should know for any child of God is just that - "a chosen child." John's gospel tells us that all who, by faith, receive Jesus, also receive the power (i.e.) right, privilege to become the sons (children) of God. While God is every man's creator, he is not every man's father. This is a place reserved only for those who have trusted upon Christ for their salvation. "But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth his son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons." (Galatians 4:4-5)

If you have wondered what it would be like to be a "chosen child," let me remind you, if you are a child of God, that is exactly what you are so, walk, talk and act like it with great joy. If you're not a child of God yet - the invitation is still open to you to believe, by faith receive the Lord Jesus as savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-13) - come become one of the chosen today.
