Niff B. Fisher

Mr. Niff B. Fisher of Porterdale died July 28 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle at the age of 80. Born in Cherokee County to the late John C. and Willie Gallaway Fisher, he lived in Porterdale for over 60 years and was a former City of Porterdale council member. Mr. Fisher was a U.S. Army Veteran and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and raising vegetables. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife Alma Lynch Fisher of Porterdale; children, Jerry W. Fisher of Covington, Rita Fisher and Wayne Harper of Buckhead, Jeff L. and Shey Fisher of Social Circle; grandchildren, Heather Ryder, Chastity Sherrill, Letice Fisher, Farrah Knight, Faith Henderson, Elton Harper Jr., Jennifer Dial, Wade Fisher and Tyler Fisher; eight great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Rendie and Ralph Abercrombie of Covington, Jurita Mobley of Porterdale, Virginia Sullivan of Conyers; brothers and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Gussie Fisher, Ethel Fisher both of Oxford; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Fisher will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 30, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Rev. J. Clifton Brown officiating. Internment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
