Dolores E. Varkonda, 81, of Covington, died Sept. 7 at Walton Regional Medical Center. The daughter of the late Thomas A. and Bertha Blair Davis, she was born in Clarion County, Pa., in 1926. Mrs. Varkonda was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, Ohio, where she served as deacon and member of Trias Chapter of the Eastern Star of Youngstown. She was a registered nurse for over 50 years as well as a former hospital administrator. Mrs. Varkonda also volunteered her nursing services at the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Varkonda is preceded in death by husband Michael Varkonda.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Linda Varkonda and George Hernandez of Covington; son and daughter-in-law Michael T. and Jeanine Varkonda of Willard, Ohio; grandchildren Julia C. Hernandez, Chad Varkonda, Jared Varkonda; brother and sister-in-law Donald E. and Joyce Davis of Canfield, Ohio; seven nieces and one nephew.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Youngstown, Ohio.
