The Georgia High School Association announced that the Georgia High School Traditional Dual Wrestling Championships scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.

The state tournament was set to begin this weekend but has been pushed back to Feb. 21.

The GHSA released a statement stating, "The GHSA has been monitoring the weather conditions and there remains the possibility of more ice and snow in many parts of the state.  We agree with the school systems that the safety of students, athletes and their supporters must be a major consideration when making decisions and support them in their efforts."

The GHSA stated that they were looking for alternate sites due to prior commitments at the Gwinnett Area.

"In order to allow time for these athletes to properly prepare for the most important tournament of the season and because the Gwinnett Arena is not available due to previous commitments, the GHSA is exploring several options for alternate host sites," the GHSA announced. "Please check the GHSA website regularly for updates"
