Nine swimmers from the Rockdale Riptides qualified to swim in individual events at the 2012 Georgia 14-and-under Short Course Championships at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center on Feb. 24-26.
Jacob Allen (12) qualified to swim 10 events, but has to miss the meat due to a broken ankle. Allen was to swim in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 50 Breaststroke, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke, 50 Butterfly, 100 Butterfly, 100 Individual Medley and 200 Individual Medley.
Delaney Willette (11) qualified to swim six events: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 100 Backstroke and 200 Backstroke.
Ryan Curry (12) qualified to swim four events: 100 Backstroke, 200 Backstroke, 50 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke.
Marquese Tucker (9) qualified to swim three events: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.
Fatimah Westbrook (13) qualified to swim three events: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.
Amanda Armstrong (12) qualified to swim two events: 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly.
Thien-An Maynard (9) qualified to swim two events: 50 Breaststroke and 100 Breaststroke.
Billye Lewis (12) qualified to swim the 200 Butterfly.
Jade McPike (11) qualified to swim the 200 Breaststroke.
The Riptides will also be competing in two Relays, the 12-and-under 200 Medley Relay featuring Delaney Willette, Billye Lewis, Amanda Armstrong and Katie Schumacher, and the 12-and-under 200 Freestyle Relay featuring Delaney Willette, Sara Marchman, Billye Lewis and Amanda Armstrong.
