Social Circle golf tournament
The Social Circle Rotary Club is hosting an Independence Day golf tournament on June 13 at Hard Labor Creek, beginning at noon.
The club is currently looking for sponsors and golfers. Early registration costs $75 per player. It increases to $85 per player after June 1.
If you want to sponsor a hole, it costs $100 for a sign and if you plan to be a beverage cart sponsor, it’ll cost you $350.

Atlanta Dream
The 2013 WNBA Eastern Conference Champions, the Atlanta Dream is set to hold a practice at Salem High School June 10 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
There will be a Q&A session for fans, and those in attendance will also have the chance to win autographed merchandise.
For $20, fans receive a ticket to the event to watch the Dream practice and choose a lower-level ticket to an upcoming Dream game at Philips Arena.

Eastside Girls Golf
After qualifying for the Class-AAAA state tournament, the Eastside girls golf team just missed out on a top-10 finish, as they finished 12th with a total score of 305.
Autumn Whiten led the way for her team, recording a team-low +26.
The Lady Eagles finished as the runner-up in the Region 8-AAAA golf tournament, where they shot a 303 as a team before moving on to state.
Eastside Boys Golf
The boys didn’t fare as well as their female counterparts, but they had a solid showing nonetheless.
Eastside finished in 14th place with a total team score of 345. Quinn Murphy was the Eagles’ best player in the tournament recording a +1 through 18 holes.
The Eagles were the best team in the region this postseason, as they edged Stephens County by three strokes in the Region 8-AAAA golf tournament.
