GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Quarterback Jackson Will had a pair of touchdowns, while Tate Peters and Undray Johnson each chipped in long runs to help the Social Circle Redskins to a 42-13 season opening route over Johnson High Friday night.

Although the win was the Redskins’ third straight season opening victory — Social Circle also beat Johnson in 2016 opener, 19-14 — it was the school’s most dominant regular season opener since the 2008 squad defeated Monticello 38-7. That team was also the last Social Circle bunch to qualify for the state playoffs.

Coach Chad Estes and company will try to take that momentum into the school’s home opener next Friday when George Walton Academy comes to town. George Walton soundly defeated Social Circle last year, 46-7 on its way to an 8-4 finish and Class A state playoff berth.
