Panola Mountain State Park will host its first archery tournament at the Panola Mountain State Park Archery Range on Sept. 21. The tournament will feature competition shooting on both static and 3-D ranges, and participants will be able to compete in one or both of the competitions.

There also will be a separate shooting section for kids ages 9-14. Kids will be able to use provided equipment on this range and have the help of an instructor if needed. There will be lots of fun ways to practice shooting and perhaps to win prizes.

The tournament shooting will be for anyone ages 9 and up wishing to compete in the different experience levels.

Registration is open, and tournament packets can be found at http://gastateparks.org/Files/GeorgiaParks/2013/RegistrationForm2013.pdf or at our Nature Center.

Early registration is available through Aug. 24, and registration will continue until Sept. 9.

Participants registering before Aug. 24 will pay $25 for one competition and $35 for both. Participants registering after Aug. 24 will pay $30 for one competition and $40 for both.

All Kid’s Fun Shoot participants will pay $15. Parking is $5.

Walk-in registration will be available based on remaining spots after Sept. 9, but those registrants won’t be guaranteed correct size of T-shirt.

Extra T-shirts will be sold the day of the tournament to spectators on a first come, first served basis. Blaze Sports will be providing disability access for any participants needing this service.
