Newton County Royal All-Stars 8u team headed to USSSA World Series

The undefeated Newton County Royal All-Stars 8u baseball team won the Georgia State Championship this past weekend at City Pond Park in Covington this past weekend. It marks the third straight tournament the All-Stars have gone undefeated in. The first was held in Griffin on June 3, and the last two at City Pond.

The team is coached by William Cutshall, along with Nathan Lazenby, Jason Stokes and Michael Mostek. Members of the team include William Cutshall, Avery Lazenby, Cooper Stokes, Micah Mostek, Jayce Yearwood, Bryan Quezada, Amond Sands, Aiden Baird, Joseph Standard, Kendall Turner, Ja'Coren Weaver and Eli Christian.

The team, along with Jacob Williams who serves as the team's mascot, "Blue Man," will be heading to the week-long United States Speciality Sports Association (USSSA) World Series in Gulfport, Miss. at the end of the month.
