The Newton County Recreation 7-8 All-Star football team played in the Gridiron Bowl Saturday, Nov. 22 and beat Macon United in two blow-out games. The score of the first game was 14-0 and the second game was under the lights of Homer Sharp Stadium as Newton County won 25-0. The team played in Macon this weekend for their next tournament where they will play five or six teams in attempt to bring home another trophy. This team is composed of different star players from each 7-8 NCR regular season team. These boys have practiced 4-5 days a week since the end of their regular football season, and have grown as a good football team. They also have eight cheerleaders that cheered the boys on for both games and the girls even did a halftime show for each game.
