Community build

The Newton Recreation Commission has announced that the Miracle League project will host its first Playground Community Build on Saturday, Oct. 26 at City Pond Park.

Volunteers are needed to help build the universally-accessable playground for the park. Build day will begin at 8 a.m. and volunteers can participate in two-hour shifts until 6 p.m.

The Newtion Recreation Commission will provide food and drink through the day.

Volunteers are asked to bring supplies, if available, including impact drivers, tape measurers, post hold diggers, work gloves and shovels.
