One thing led to another and I met the sports editor, Phillip Hubbard, who is a UGA graduate.
Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted to be in the sports media industry after I graduated from college. With recently graduating from the University of Georgia, I am one step closer to my dream because of The Covington News.
My first assignment was to help cover the Newton Rams football game against the Hapeville Charter Hornets for the 2022-2023 season opener at Sharp Stadium. When I saw the atmosphere at the opening game, it felt like I was doing something that I wanted to do since I was a little kid.

Working for The Covington News has allowed me to be able to interview and actually build relationships among the coaches and players. Having those relationships has me networking to a different level that I have never expected. And over the past year, I can say The Covington News has taught me the ins and outs on how to be a great journalist.
