Tara Harrison, former Eastside High School soccer standout, was named to Georgia Southwestern State University’s spring 2014 Dean’s List.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Harrison transferred to Georgia Southwestern from LaGrange College in January. She played soccer for two years at LaGrange. LaGrange is a Division III school and Georgia Southwestern is a Division II school, so Harrison is stepping it up a notch.
In her freshman season at LaGrange, the Lady Panthers won nine games, matching their program record for wins in a single season.
During Harrison’s sophomore year, she helped the team to the USA South Conference Tournament. The 17 wins over Tara’s two seasons there set a program record.
As an Eastside Eagle, Harrison scored 25 goals and recorded 49 assists during her four years on varsity. The Eagles made the playoffs in all four years and advanced to the sweet sixteen during her senior year. Tara was a captain for two of those years.
Eastside was 45-21-3 while Harrison was there.
