The following is an update on former Newton County high school soccer players and their on-the-field performances through Nov. 1 during the 2013 season:
Tara Harrison, Eastside- Harrison and the LaGrange Panthers currently sit 8-9-3 on the season, tying their recent match-up 0-0 on the road against Huntingdon.
The Panthers broke a 5-game losing streak on Oct. 27 with a 2-0 shutout victory over N.C. Wesleyan.
For the season, Harrison has played in 17 games for the Panthers, including 12 starts.
The sophomore has one assists and three shots on goal from her defensive position.
Carly Farrow, Eastside- Farrow has played in two games for the Panthers at goalkeeper this season with one start.
The freshman has logged 90 minutes of action in goal for LaGrange, picking up four saves in one half against Berry College.
Farrow has five total saves on the year and has six goals allowed.
Farrow and Harrison have helped LaGrange to eight wins this year, setting an all-time high for wins in two seasons with 17 victories over the last two years.
Morgan Edelman, Alcovy- Edelman and the Piedmont College Lions are 14-2-2 overall, winning three of their last four contests in USA South Conference action.
The Lions tied Covenant College 1-1 in Lookout Mountain, Ga., on Oct. 30.
Edelman has started seven games for the Lions at midfield, registering four shots on goal and one assist.
Lynea Fouser, Newton; Sarah Gaddis, Eastside; Erin Elmore, Young Americans- Fouser, Gaddis, Elmore and the Point Skyhawks are 4-11-2 overall with a 1-6-2 mark in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
Point fell 3-1 to Columbia College on Oct. 26 at home in its third consecutive home game after hitting the road for seven consecutive games.
Fouser, Newton High's all-time leading scorer, has notched three goals and three assists for the Skyhawks this season.
Gaddis and Elmore have started all 17 games for the Skyhawks this season, with Elmore recording four goals and four assists.
