Fouser paces Point

The following is an update on former Newton County high school soccer players and their on-the-field performances during the 2013 season:

Lynea Fouser, Newton- Fouser and the Point University Skyhawks are currently 2-5-1 this season, falling Sept. 17 1-0 to Southern Wesleyan University.

Fouser currently leads the Skyhawks in scoring with three goals and two assists this season.

The former Covington News Female Player of the Year led Point to a victory over Brewton Parker on Aug. 21, scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist after the Skyhawks fell behind 3-0. Point won the contest 4-3.

Fouser and the Skyhawks return to action on Sept. 27 on the road against Reinhardt University.

Sarah Gaddis, Eastside- Gaddis currently anchors a Point defense that has allowed just 12 goals through eight games this season.

Gaddis has started four games for the Skyhawks this season, including Point's last contest against Southern Wesleyan.

Erin Elmore, YACS- Elmore has recorded a goal and an assist in her freshman season with Point.

Elmore scored her lone goal this season against Brewton Parker.

Tara Harrison, Eastside- Harrison and LaGrange College are currently 5-2 this season, including four straight victories after beginning the season 1-2.

The Panthers have picked up wins over Oakwood, Millsaps, Toccoa Falls and Mary Baldwin during their 4-game win streak, outscoring opponents 22-3 during their streak.

Harrison has started five games for the Panthers' defense this fall.

LaGrange returns to action today on the road at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C.

Carly Farrow, Eastside- Harrow started her first game in goal for LaGrange in the Panthers' 12-0 win over Oakwood on Sept. 8.

Farrow did not allow a goal in the shutout win, recording one save against the Lady Ambassadors.

Morgan Edelman, Alcovy- Edelman has played in all six games for the Piedmont College Lions, including four starts.

The Lions have won five straight games to move their record to 5-1 this year.
