Ty Raynor threw a no-hitter through four innings and Eastside's bats did the rest in a 16-0 win over Drew on Thursday.
Raynor faced 13 Titans, striking out 10 while walking one. At the plate the Eagles pounded out 13 hits with Cody Walker and Matt Hitchcock leading the team by going 3for 4 on the night. Walker had a chance to hit for the cycle as he had a double, triple and an in-the-park grand slam homerun.
Also hitting a homerun blast for Eastside was Musashi Briem who went 2 for 4 on the night. Jake Wright also went 2 for 4 hitting a triple and a single. Other Eagles reaching base with singles were Keith Buckhault, Daniel Garrett and Jerold Sumner.
Earlier this week Eastside faced a couple of other Region 4-AAA foes.
The Eagles routed Henry County 23-1 in a match-up that saw Eastside garner a total of 19 hits while the Warhawks could only muster a single hit.
The Eagles hit throughout the lineup with Walker, Joey Mitchell, Keith Buckhault and Briem racking up three hits apiece while Wright, Hitchcock and Drew Buckhault each had a pair of hits and Jerold Sumner had one.
Taking care of the pitching duties for Eastside were Drew Buckhault and Matt Hitchcock. Buckhault allowed one hit over four innings while striking out six and walking two.
Hitchcock finished the game with a perfect three up - three down inning striking out all three batters that he faced.
In what proved to be their best competition of the week, Eastside defeated the Locust Grove Wildcats by a score of 7-6. The back and forth game saw the Eagles outhit the wildcats 10 hits to their 8 hits. Daniel Garrett got the start for Eastside and allowed seven hits over his 4-1/3 innings of work while striking out three and walking only one.
Offensively, Joey Mitchell and Jake Wright both had multi-hit games while Keith Buckhault, Drew Buckhault, Matt Hitchcock, Jerold Sumner, Daniel Garrett and Musashi Briem each had a hit of their own. Jake Wright served as the closer for Eastside and finished the pitching duties with 2-2/3 innings of strong work allowing only one hit while striking out five.
