Newton clinched a spot in the Class AAAAAA playoffs Tuesday, knocking off Morrow 12-2 on senior night.After Morrow took an early first-inning lead, Newton took over in the bottom of the first, running away with the contest, originally scheduled for Friday but postponed due to inclement weather. “It feels great. This win helped put us in the state playoffs, which is something we haven’t done since 2009,” Newton coach Vincent Byams said.
