The Eastside Eagles benefited in the Class AAAA top 10 football rankings released Tuesday morning after its 38-31 come-from-behind win at Woodward Academy last Friday.

The Eagles (6-0, 3-0 in Region 4-AAAA) jumped from eighth to seventh in the latest Georgia Sportswriters Association rankings ahead of another crucial Region 4-AAAA matchup this Friday against Salem (4-2, 3-0). Eastside's move up represented one of just two changes in this week's Class AAAA poll, with the entrance of Ridgeland into the No. 10 spot being the other.

Eastside will host Salem at Sharp Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff this Friday. A win against the Seminoles will all but secure a Region 4-AAAA title.
