Eastside’s boys golf team ensured Monday night that they’ll keep the clubs out through the end of may.

Thanks to a fourth place finish in Monday’s area tournament, the Eagles punched their tickets to the Class AAAA state tournament on May 22-23 in Columbus. Coach Jay Cawthon qualified by finishing the area tourney with a team score of 339, just behind Blessed Trinity (317), Woodward Academy (300) and Marist (278).

Individually, Griffin Autry and Landon Farill were Eastside’s low scorers, as both tied for 12th place out of over 60 golfers after shooting a 78 on the day. Other Eastside finishers were Curtis Broadnax who finished 23rd with an 87, Wes Connor who placed 32nd after shooting a 96, Wyatt Hamby who placed 34th with a score of 98 and Zach Moseley who finished 47th with a score of 123.
