The Eastside Eagles softball team honored their lone senior on Sept. 12 in a 9-1 victory over Stephens County.

Senior Katie Fletcher used a dominating pitching performance against the Indians for the 8-run win, allowing just one run in three hits in five innings.

Fletcher also struckout a pair of batters in the win.

The victory clinched a spot in the regional playoffs for the Eagles.

Fletcher, who missed last season due to an injury, was unable to play softball for several months before the start to the 2013 season.

The Eagles open their playoff season on Oct. 1 with a doubleheader against Lanier High School. A third game will be held on Oct. 2, if needed.

The first round of the playoffs is held in a best 2-out-of-3 format.
