Alcovy pitcher Kalia Johnson is the Covington News’ Alcovy athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 1. Johnson was a huge factor in the Tigers’ 17-0 blowout win over Tucker. Johnson could’ve picked up another win last week if the Tigers had played just one more inning against Eastside. The game got cancelled due to bad weather with the Tigers leading by a few runs.
