The Rockdale County Bulldogs' 2012-2013 wrestling season was one for the ages, as the Bulldogs reached the third round of the state playoffs, and had a pair of individual wrestlers finish in the top three in the state Class AAAAAA tournament.
Rockdale reached the Class AAAAAA Team Dual Wrestling tournament and faced off against Roswell in the first round, defeating the Hornets 33-26 to advance.
In the second round, the Bulldogs squared off against North Forsyth, edging the Raiders 38-21.
Rockdale County's run ended in the third round to eventual team-state champion, Archer, as the Bulldogs were unable to upset the Tigers, falling 66-3.
At the individual state tournament, Alonzo Allen brought home a championship finish at 106 pounds, defeating Roswell's Brennan Ninesling 6-2 by decision.
Ulises Ponce also finished third overall at 132 pounds, besting Meadowcreek's Rene Deluna 9-1 by major decision.
