The Young Americans Christian varsity football team fell to 1-2 last week in Columbus with a 47-14 road loss to Calvary Christian.

Senior James Heft led the Eagles with 100 yards rushing in the loss, while Kyle Williams and Brandon Rhineheart led the defensive effort.

"Our guys fell behind early but really rallied to play a good second half," coach Chuck McCullough said.

The loss came a week after the Eagles earned their first win with a 35-0 victory over Horizon Christian at home.

Heft again led the Eagles on the ground, totaling 200 yards of total offense against Horizon.

"We have a lot of young players that really adapted to the speed of the game," McCullough said. "First week showed how unprepared we were. However, this week we came ready to play and it paid off."

The Eagles return to action next Friday when they travel to Stockbridge for a 7:30 p.m. contest against Community Christian.
