Motorcycle wreck on Salem Road

On Wednesday morning, a crash at Salem Road on the entrance ramp to I-20 sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital with broken arms and legs.

According to incident reports and Investigator Michael Camp of the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, a silver Toyota 4-Runner driving behind a van heading south on Salem Road was making a turn onto I-20 heading east around 6 a.m.

The Toyota 4-Runner, driven by a 60-year-old Conyers woman, struck a white motorcycle heading north on Salem Road, driving the motorcycle and rider toward the guard rail.

The rider, a 22-year-old male from Juliette, Ga., was flown to a trauma center in Atlanta.

The reporting deputy described talking to the motorcycle rider's father later that morning, who said the rider was in intensive care with both legs broken and left arm broken.
