Small businesses owners looking to tap into government funds will have two opportunities in the near future to find out exactly how to get the assistance they require.
The Conyers-Rockdale Economic Development Council will be hosting an introduction to government contracting on Feb. 10 at Rockdale Career Academy. The seminar will begin at 8 a.m. and will run until 12 p.m.
The event is presented by the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, Rockdale County and by the City of Conyers.
Any business interested in participating will need to register for the event by Feb. 8. The event will cost $20, and business owners can register online at www.credcga.org or by phone at 770-483-7049.
Another option for small business owners is the Partnership Alliance Learning Series (PALS), who will hold a meeting on Friday, Feb. 19 at DeKalb Technical College. The all-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rep. Hank Johnson's small business initiative will help local small businesses navigate Small Business Administration resources, learn how to partner with financial institutions and procure government contracts.
Business owners wishing to participate can register online at www.hankjohnson.house.gov or by calling PALS coordinator Paulette Suggs at 770-939-2016.
