The National Weather Service out of Peachtree City issued a winter weather advisory for the north and central portions of the state warning of a possible wintry mix of snow and rain changing to snow for Tuesday.

Rain is predicted to begin overnight and change to a mix of rain and snow on Tuesday morning and possibly change to snow during the day, with an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches.

Rockdale County Public Schools is monitoring the situation, according to spokesperson Cindy Ball.
