Mr. William "Bill" Pettitt, age 82 of McDonough, died Monday, November 14, 2011. He was preceded by his wife, Vivian Pettitt and parents, Herman and Ida Mae Pettitt. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Ann and Steve Wilson, Morrow, Tammy Pettitt, Altamont, KS; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Stephanie Petitt, McDonough; brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Louise Pettitt, Alabama; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruby Bishop, Villa Rica, Polly Smith, Lithia Springs, Melba and Junior Moore, Lithia Springs; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pettitt was a member of McDonough Christian Church and enjoyed woodworking. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Scott Gregory officiating; interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro. Family will receive friends Friday, November 18, 2011 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
