The Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival was recently named a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event for the month of August 2010.

Since 1985 the Southeast Tourism Society (STS) has published the Top 20 Events. The best events across the Southeast compete to receive the prestigious Top 20 designation. Through a nomination process, the Southeast Tourism Society chooses the top 20 events going on in the Southeast for each month of the year, and publishes this list of winners quarterly.

"We are very excited that the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival is included in this prestigious list of events, especially since it is one of our newest festivals, going into its fourth year," said Rebecca Hill, event manager at the Georgia International Horse Park. "The positive attention this designation brings to the event and to the horse park is something of which the entire community can be proud."

Planning for the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival is already underway. The 2010 festival will take place on the Grand Prix Plaza at the Georgia International Horse Park on August 28-29.

"We hope that the STS Top 20 Event selection will help the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival continue to grow by providing more exposure of this unique festival," said Hill.

The Southeast Tourism Society is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to the development of industry organizations and professionals and the promotion of tourism within and to STS member states by sharing resources, fostering cooperation, networking, providing continuing education, cooperative marketing, consumer outreach, advice and consultation, governmental affairs and other programs.
