I and the entire Conyers Middle School faculty and staff would like to welcome CMS students and parents to the 2013-14 school year. This year, I am joined by assistant principals, Mrs. Fannetta Gooden and Mr. John April, who is new to CMS. As we support the development of the whole child, the school will move forward with a laser focus on its vision, "Success for all students," and its mission, "Committed to excellence, Motivated to Learn, Supportive of all...We are CMS!"

Open House
The Open House schedule includes times allotted for each grade level on Wednesday, July 31: sixth grade (4 - 5:30 p.m.), seventh grade (5 - 6 p.m.), and eighth grade (6 - 7 p.m.). During this time, students and parents will receive their class schedules, visit classrooms, and sign-up for the Parent e-Portal for monitoring student progress. There will also be opportunities to get information about extracurricular activities, including clubs and athletics.

Supplies
To promote students' organization, CMS has developed an essential supplies list for all grades in collaboration with teachers. These items include: one 3-inch three-ring binder, five tab dividers, five three-hole spiral notebooks (60-70 pages), one three-hole pencil pouch, pencils, paper, blue/black pens, and a glue stick. Curriculum Night
The community is also invited to the Title I Curriculum and Learning Night for sixth grade on Thursday, August 15 and for seventh and eighth grades on Thursday, August 22. These one-hour events begin at 6:30 p.m. in the school theater and transition to students' classrooms. They will offer opportunities for parents and students to learn more about how the school supports their students' learning and development. Light refreshments will be served.
