Conyers Middle Principal moves to RCPS central office

The Rockdale County school board approved Torian White as interim principal of Conyers Middle School on Thursday night, effective October 1. CMS Principal Maryland Nesmith is moving to the Rockdale County Public Schools central office as the Race to the Top grant manager. White is currently assistant principal at Salem High School. 

Superintendent Richard Autry said in a released statement, "I am pleased to announce that the Board of Education has approved Mr. Torian White as interim principal of Conyers Middle School. Mr. White has a proven record of administrative experience within Rockdale County Public Schools and I have confidence he will carry that forward as the leader of CMS."

White said in a released statement, "While I will miss the strong relationships developed within the Salem community, I am excited and humbled about this opportunity to serve in this capacity at Conyers Middle School. I look forward to building upon the existing high-performance culture there, and I welcome our community stakeholders to join our administrative team, faculty, staff, and students as we work to develop our young people academically and socially."
